Statement
from Port Erin Commissioners regarding the Cosy Nook Café
Following
a post by the tenant of the Cosy Nook Café on social media, Port Erin
Commissioners has issued the following statement.
During
Port Erin Commissioners monthly inspection of the Cosy Nook Café on 4th
May, the tenant asked for a discussion with Commissioner Marc Morley who attended
the inspection.
During that discussion, Commissioner Morley confirmed that the lease for the
premises expires on 11th May 2019 and at that point, as is usual under
the terms of a lease, Port Erin Commissioners will wish to take back the property
to undertake significant works.
Commissioner
Morley also informed the tenant that he was more than welcome to apply for a
new lease when Port Erin Commissioners seek expressions of interest after the
works are completed.
As
Port Erin Commissioners has previously stated, it is committed to the long-term
future of the Cosy Nook Café and is currently scoping its requirements for
works to be able to commence as soon as the current lease expires.
