Refuse Collections Thanks to all residents over the past few weeks for ensuring their bins are out nice and early. Refuse collections will continue to operate as normal so please continue to ensure your wheelie bin is at the curtilage of your property for 7am and that you wipe the handles before and after collection. A polite reminder that we do not collect side waste and for residents to ensure that the bin lid is fully closed.
Bring Banks
The Department of Infrastructure has confirmed that it's Bring Banks will be open to the
public again from Friday 24th April.
The Port Erin Commissioners local estate bring
banks will not reopen at this time so residents are advised to use the DOI Bring Banks at Bridson Street, Station Road Car Park & Breagle Glen Car Park. If the bins are full, please do not leave recyclates beside the bins as these will not be collected, but please do give us a call and we can ensure that the bring banks are emptied as soon as possible.
Amenity Site
The Southern Recycling Centre will reopen at 10am on Saturday. A one-way traffic order will be in operation on Castletown Road from Four Roads to Shore Road, Gansey. Diversions will be in place from Shore Road, Gansey for vehicles heading towards Port Erin.
Please note that the site will not be taking glass, paper, cans, and any paid for items such as fridges, TV etc. for the time being. Please check their website or social media channels before you visit as there is likely to be daily changes.
Public Conveniences
With Government relaxing the restrictions on movement, the
Shore Road Public Conveniences will reopen from Friday morning. The public toilets at the Railway Station are also open. The Harbour &
Station Road toilets will not be reopening at this time.
Grass Cutting
Grass cutting around the village will recommence on Monday 27th April. Please ensure that social distancing guidelines are observed at all times.
Recreation
All play areas and the courts at Breagle Glen remain closed at this time.
Beach
It has been agreed that dog walkers may continue to use the beach to exercise their dogs until the 31st May when this will be reviewed. Please ensure that all dog faeces are removed from the beach and placed in the bins along the beach.
The beach recreation facilities such as beach football and volleyball will not be put out at this time.
