Port Erin Commissioners is pleased to announce that work is due to commence on a new multi-use games area (MUGA) at Breagle Glen next week.
The works will see a new court and fencing with a basketball court and five-a-side pitch created on court 5. A new footpath will also be added to improve access to the MUGA and 4 of the tennis courts.
The project was due to commence around 12 months ago but has been delayed due to Covid lockdown restrictions.
Chair of Port Erin Commissioners, Mr Godfrey Egee commented, “The Board is pleased to see this project get underway after the unanticipated Covid delays over the past 15 months. The new MUGA further adds to the investments made by the Board over the past few years into recreational facilities within Port Erin and alongside the improved access to the MUGA and 4 of the tennis courts, will also benefit wider users of Breagle Glen.”
The project will be undertaken by Kompan UK using local contractors E G Services for large elements of the project and is planned to be completed within around 6 weeks. (Image is example only)
