Board members of Port Erin Commissioners and Arbory & Rushen Parish Commissioners visited Reayrt Vradda Glamping site on 25 September to meet with the operator for a guided tour of the whole development and an update on progress. Chair of Port Erin Commissioners Mr Godfrey Egee commented, “Although the weather was particularly unpleasant, Board members from both authorities braved the elements to meet with Reayrt Vradda and see first-hand the progress being made on the site. The reports from those who attended have been very positive with members impressed by the progress and plans for the site which will not only benefit Port Erin, but the whole of the South of the Island.” Director of Reayrt Vradda Limited, Mr Stuart Owens said, “It was a pleasure to welcome Board members of both Port Erin Commissioners and Arbory & Rushen Parish Commissioners to the site and provide a guided tour and explanation of where we are up to with the development. The weather has been very unkind to us throughout the whole project and with the plans to retain as much of the original field as possible, has made work with plant machinery very slow. That said, good progress has been made over the past few months with the car park and tented area now nearing completion which will complement the already open campervan area and toilet & shower facilities.” Mr Owens added, “With the services to the site already completed last year, the site is ready to accept the glamping pods. The recently announced closure of our sister site in Glen Helen, allows us to confirm that our plan is to look to relocate most facilities from that site to Reayrt Vradda as well as installing new pods and chalets built to an even greater luxurious standard.” With the motorhome section of the site already available for booking, the current plan will see the bell tent area to come into operation around Christmas 2024 with the glamping site currently targeted for opening in May 2025. You can find out more about the site by visiting Reayrt Vradda’s website and social media channels. Added 8 October 2024
