Port Erin Commissioners welcomed the reception children from Rushen Primary School over the first two weeks of October to plant over 1,200 bulbs in Athol Park with a mixture of flowers which will provide a fantastic colourful display in 2025. Mrs Jo Shaw from Rushen Primary School commented, “It was lovely to be able to assist Port Erin Commissioners with the project to plant a lovely selection of bulbs. Many of the children will know Athol Park and play there, so to be able to see the benefit of their efforts next year will be wonderful.” Chair of Port Erin Commissioners, Mr Godfrey Egee added, “It is always a pleasure to welcome the children from Rushen Primary School to help us with projects within the village. The fabulous efforts of the reception classes, ably assisted by their parent helpers and teachers, to plant so many blubs over their visits to Athol Park is commendable and I for one cannot wait to see the flowers in Spring and Summer next year.” Added 17 October 2024
