Following the COVID-19 measures announcement by the Chief
Minister yesterday afternoon, and reviewing precautions which could be taken to
mitigate the risks posed to the local community, The George Herdman Library,
Port Erin will be closed from 7pm today (Tuesday 17th March). We
will take this opportunity to undertake planned maintenance works, a stock take
and deep clean. A review on operations going forward will be made at the end of
March. If you have any items to return, please keep hold of these whilst the
library remains closed; you will not incur any late return fees.
The Commissioners’ Office public counter
will also be closed from end of business today. Again, a review on operations
going forward will be made at the end of March. Our staff will still be
contactable via phone (832298) or email (info@porterin.gov.im).
Commissioners tenants who currently pay by cash have been advised of this step
and have been encouraged to move to electronic payment methods.
Released: 17th March 2020
