Statement from Port Erin Commissioners Chair, Mrs Hannah Mackenzie Port Erin Commissioners Take Action Following Liquidation of Reayrt Vradda Glamping Site At its meeting held on 10 June 2025, the Board of Port Erin Commissioners discussed the voluntary liquidation of Reayrt Vradda Glamping Limited and considered the most appropriate course of action in the best interests of local ratepayers. Following careful deliberation, the Board unanimously resolved to support all reasonable steps to ensure the site is secured, made safe, and cleared of any hazards, third-party equipment, or unauthorised occupation at the earliest opportunity. The Board acknowledges that the appointed liquidator, CKM Consultants Limited, is currently managing the affairs of the company. Given comments made by the liquidator to both the Clerk and the Chairman, the Commissioners anticipate that the lease will be formally disclaimed in due course. This would enable the Board to take direct action in line with its resolution. The Commissioners remain committed to working constructively with the liquidator to ensure the site is returned to a safe and orderly condition in the public interest. Once disclaimed, the lease would revert to Port Erin Commissioners, who would then proceed to implement the agreed actions. These include requiring the site to be vacated by those currently residing there and securing the area with appropriate fencing. While the decision was not taken lightly—and the Board recognises the impact on certain individuals—it considers this to be the most responsible and necessary course of action within its legislative remit and in the public interest. In response to requests from members, the Board has also committed to engage with residents living adjacent to the site to understand how they have been affected and to keep them informed as matters progress. The Commissioners will issue further updates as the situation develops. The Commissioners are committed to making sure the best interests of the village are at the heart of decision making. We believe in clear transparency and will issue further updates as we have more details to share. Added 12 June 2025
