Port Erin Commissioners is pleased to announce that work commenced this week on the construction of the new Commissioners Depot at Breagle Glen. Port Erin Commissioners Chair, Mr Godfrey Egee commented, “The Board is pleased to have the project finally start following several delays due to the Covid 19 pandemic. The depot will see Port Erin Commissioners consolidate its day to day operations from its existing depot in Station Road Car Park upon completion.” The project, being undertaken by Paul Carey & Sons, will take around 6 months to complete and will see the build include solar PV panels, energy efficient lighting, sedum roofs whilst also incorporating bee bricks, swift boxes and wildflower areas. As part of the project, the car park at Breagle Glen will also see its layout reconfigured and will see the introduction of LED lighting. Breagle Glen Indian Restaurant, the grassed areas, bowling green, tennis courts and the new muti-use game area will remain open throughout the project but there will be restricted parking within the Breagle Glen car park and the recycling bins will be relocated to Bridson Street.
